Electric Mira EV drove more than 1000 kilometers without recharging

The company Sanyo reported that the electric Mira EV, equipped with lithium-ion batteries, covered 1003,184 kilometers. This beat their own Guinness record.

The test drive was organized by the Japan Electric Vehicle Club (Japan EV Club) and carried out in an educational institution for race drivers in the Japanese prefecture of Ibaraki from 22 to 23 May. Mira EV has already set a record - 555.6 kilometers without recharging from Tokyo to Osaka on November 17, 2009.

The Sanyo lithium-ion battery system used in the Mira EV consists of 8320 cylindrical lithium-ion batteries.
