Android overtook Windows Mobile in the smartphone market

There is such a company - Gartner, which is engaged in various studies. According to her latest research, the Android platform for the first time overtook Windows Mobile in world popularity and is now in fourth place among the overall rating of operating systems for smartphones.

According to the data for the first quarter of 2010, the leader of Symbian has lost 4.5% of the market, and now its share is 44.3%. Then follows the lost 1.2% Blackberry with its 19.4%. And then you can see where the percentages of the leaders flowed - the iPhone OS gained a little less than 5%, and the Android OS, whose share grew from an insignificant 1.6% to 9.6% over the year! This allowed not quite confidently, but overtake its neighbor in the table - Windows Mobile, which has lost its position in recent years, which has lost more than 4% of the market and now has only 6.8% of the global number of smartphones.

It is also interesting that the total number of smartphone sales this year has grown, in relation to sales of simple mobile phones. And the difference in numbers is not small - 17.3% this year to 13.6% in the past.
