As a rule, characters are used to animate something inanimate and boring. For example, to instill soul and emotions in a program or site that
(in fact) consist of baytik and bitik. Recently, we had to work on a rather unusual project - it was necessary to draw a character for a person.

Our clients include many large companies, software developers, design studios and other serious organizations, but sometimes creative individuals or freelance designers come to us.

From the northern maritime country of Norway, we were written by designer Gunder Eriksen, the owner of
framebase.com , a creative and positive person with a good sense of humor. Mr. Eriksen needed a logo for his website and an energetic colorful character. There was no exact vision of the character’s image, and therefore we started working with simple sketches: any visual images that could develop into a good idea in the future.
So, at first there were funny monsters, striped lizards and chameleons:

And even octopus with a pencil:

But all this was not that ...
And then Mr. Eriksen himself was actively involved in the work and made a proposal to shift the focus to the person-person. Namely, our client turned out to be a brave man and decided to take himself for the character prototype! The task for the draftsman was made easier and more complicated at the same time - it was necessary to create a superhero (as from the Marvel comics), in which the customer himself would be recognized. And work began to boil.
So we had a superhero designer, armed with a symbol of design creativity - a pencil.

But he did not suit us either, because he was too static, but he wanted an inspiration and movement. And then we made two more sketches. The intrepid space designer in a spacesuit and with a plasma pencil of the latest generation!

It is worth mentioning here that Mr. Eriksen treated his part of the work very responsibly and always carefully described the advantages and disadvantages of each option, helping to advance our joint business forward.
Here on this sketch you see a flying Super Designer with a flaming pencil in his hand. Swift and creative!

Everyone liked the last sketch and the work went to the final stage. So the character was drawn in the style of the comic book "Marvel", got its own little planet and the inscription Framebase. It turned out like this:
