Father of Xbox, Zune and Frustrated Courier leaves company

It all started with what the respected in the IT environment, journalist Mary Jo (Mary Jo) from ZDnet published a topic entitled " Where did J. Allard go? ". Mary examines the reasons why the guy who was not last in the department of E & D (Entertainment & Devices), had to leave his post after Steve Ballmer's words that the company would not produce any courier-type tablet. Well, just the other day, the Wall Street Journal confirmed that Allard left the position of CEO (but not executive, and experience officer) and the CTO of the “department” of entertainment and devices.

WSJ writes that Allard’s departure from the company was quite expected - last year the entire E & D department experienced massive layoffs due to a sharp increase in unit costs. However, Allard, who was engaged not only in Xbox and Zune, but also in Windows Phone (including the new Kin), left of his own accord and initiative.

As noted by Gizmodo , for a company that so badly needs a visionary, the care of one of the most experienced people who had been in charge of the department for a long time definitely will not reflect positively on the success of products and campaigns.
