Microsoft today
introduced the program Ignition to promote new music artists, delivering music to listeners through its three major services - Xbox Live, Zune and MSN. The essence of the program lies in the fact that Microsoft will acquaint its 30 million public with young artists.
This month, the British group
Maximo Park is participating in the promotion. The first single of the artists can be downloaded for free in the Zune Marketplace, the video in the Xbox Live Marketplace and on MSN.
Microsoft hosts this album on
MSN Music , and also provided a
website for the group on
zune.net . The software giant also works with artists on exclusive content for the Zune service, such as playlists created by the group, recording comment tracks from the album by each member of the group.
