Here is the latest series of the report on the results of the “King of Modding” competition (“Modding-Oscar”) , a professional award for specialists in the field of modifying the appearance and functionality of PC components and peripherals, organized by www.modding.ru , www.occlub.ru . This report will be devoted to the category of competition called "Creating a custom-buildings". It includes all cases for computers created from scratch.

1 place. "Old appliances" - vortchun

The modder under the nickname vortchun has planned to make a system unit for itself, which by design will resemble the technique of the past decades. The body is made of plywood in 9 and 7 mm thick. As a kit to the case, the modder created a speaker system in the same style. All robots are done with the highest precision.

2nd place. "Garmr" - Tirex

Tirex did his best, his project took a decent second place. Extraordinary cooling of hard drives that are attached to the side wall, the location of the heat sink in its own unit, the hood under which is the layout of the camshaft of the car, shock absorbers are installed on the back wall, an mp3 player is mounted.

3rd place. "TinyBlackBox" - -ALS-

Modder -ALS- knows what the body for a miniature system represents. All components are chosen perfectly: slim DVD-slot drive, power is provided by a micro-PSU, 2.5-inch hard drive, Blutooth module. All this is enclosed in a stylish case with black glossy acrylic. The filigree precision of the case is achieved by laser cutting.

4th place. "Green Glow" - NemesiZ

Having three square meters of 5 mm acrylic, modder NemesiZ set to work. Noteworthy in this work is a homemade water cooling system, made at a high level, the side wall of the case is a kind of coil for the liquid water cooling system. The case was originally made under the motherboard form factor mATX. In certain places the plexiglas is tinted, which complements the already impressive case design.

5th place. "Separate" - Sergey.Akinshin

Sergey.Akinshin began work on the body with the creation of a 3D model. The main material is plywood. Conceptually, the author borrowed the idea of ​​modularity from the TT Level 10 serial case. On the walls there are fastened plexiglas plates, the faces are illuminated by LEDs.

6th place. "The fabric case" - gameover

The modder, under the nickname gameover, created a body made of MDF sheet 10 mm thick, while covering it with a cloth of two colors. The result is a compact case with everything you need inside. Plus, an engraved window is installed on the top wall. The project worthy of the 6th place in one of the most prestigious categories in modding.

7th place. ITX-CaR - MasterNeo

Project MasterNeo created from the body of the machine. Inside the case is a mini-ITX motherboard. All connectors are placed on the back of the machine. After all the work was done, the modder painted the typewriter with an airbrush.

8th place. "Oak monoblock" - maccozz









Worklog

Creating a monoblock is characterized by combining in one case the monitor and the system unit. This task modder maccozz handled, having a laptop and 19 inch monitor. As the name of the project shows, the case, which unites the monitor and the laptop is made of wood, the back wall is covered with polished brass.

9th place. "My HTPC or classics of the genre" - Alexander Slobodyan

The name speaks for itself, this case can be set as an example, like the case of a classic HTPC. The case is designed to listen to music and watch movies in the home theater. Beacon tape recorder came up as a donor for the chassis of the case, respectively, all sizes are adapted to the size of video and audio equipment.

10th place. "Snow Glam" - VL @ Dyka

VL @ Dyka thoroughly approached work on his project. Qualitatively carried out work with plexiglass, well-thought-out color scheme provided the modder with a place in the top ten best works.

11th place. "Chevrolet Camaro SS 1968 PC" - sander86

Modder sander86 in the past had experience with car modeling, so creating a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS model at 1:10 was not difficult for him. The main body material is Lexan (transparent flexible polycarbonate). Paint work, lighting, all done at a high level.

12th place. "Second Life" - Murzik

Murzik has created a compact case with excellent cooling; in front of two 140 mm fans, cold air is forced into the case. The side walls are assembled from aluminum profile and serve as radiators. It is noteworthy that in order to create this custom, the author had to purchase about 24 meters of various aluminum profiles.

13th place. "Full Metal PC" - GizmO

All components of this mod GizmO secured on the created frame, which was then closed with a round case from an old vacuum cleaner, to remove all components, unscrew the back wall with the I / O panel and pull it all back. The opening of the DVD tray is originally made. The case is polished to a shine.

Another custom project created on the basis of an old vacuum cleaner. Cut out flames in the side of the case look great. For more air flow, you can remove the top cover.

Plexiglas is very popular in modding. This is evidenced by another modding project, the main material of which was plexiglas. Engraving and illumination are made on the walls, 4 hard drives are installed.

16th place. Iskander-M - DONXAKer

DONXAKer designed the Iskander missile system. Initially, the case was drawn on the computer, and then according to the drawings brought to life. The main material has become plywood. The model looks good and complements the range of auto-custom on KM09.

This model is the youngest in the series and comes with 30 nozzles, but in the right hands this is more than enough. Dremel 300 series, among modders, the most common, they combine the best price-quality ratio.
