Specify time in YouTube links

When you add links to YouTube videos in the text, you often need to specify a certain point from which to watch the video. Many in this case add something to the link to “look from this and that moment”. But this approach is not convenient - after loading the page, you have to manually move the slider and wait for the download to start from the new location.

There is a special anchor #t in the YouTube links to solve this problem.

The anchor is appended to the end of the address and can be in the following format: #t=hms #t=

where :: is the offset of the video from the beginning of the video in hours, minutes and seconds. It is not necessary to specify all parameters. You can, for example, specify only minutes ( # t = 2m ). Or specify the offset in seconds ( # t = 134 ).

This anchor can also be used on the open YouTube page. If you add it to the address and press enter, the player will automatically rewind to the specified position.

In the comments to the video, you can also use this function. And there is no need to write the full link. It is enough just to specify the right time in the form of : and when you add a comment, this entry is automatically converted into a hyperlink that rewinds the player to the desired position.

PS

This convenient system has been around for a very long time, and even on Habré they have already told about it. But far from everyone knows about her anyway.

As an example, a random video was selected for the links.
