From April 28 to May 19, the Nizhny Novgorod Linux Users Group, supported by the Nizhny Novgorod RadioTechnical College, held weekly 4-hour workshops on School Linux.
During the 4 seminars we had:
Consider and practically work with tools for creating and editing vector and raster graphics in Linux
Once again went through the stages of installing and configuring School Linux. Considered methods of connecting printers and scanners. Clarified the issues of network configuration and program installation / removal.
The most interesting topic was “OpenOffice.org”. Although it has an interface close to the office suite used in schools, some functions work a little differently. The seminar was held in the "Question-Answer" mode and all visitors had the opportunity to try to perform the necessary operations on the spot.
And one of the most unusual was the last seminar on programming tools in Linux. In addition to the fact that we reviewed the development environments in the Pascal and Basic languages that are included in the School Linux, we have learned from teachers a lot of new things about conducting computer science classes in schools.
Thanks to everyone who joined our seminars. In the opinion of teachers, this cycle was useful and interesting. Hope we all really enjoyed it. ')
Big thanks to the administration of the Nizhny Novgorod RadioTechnical College for the support and provision of a computer class for conducting seminars on School Linux for school teachers. Without such support it would be difficult to organize a practical course.
