Replacing the cord from the laptop charger to a compact analog

I probably will not discover America when I say that a modern laptop consumes no more energy from a wall outlet than a desk lamp. However, manufacturers with manic persistence make the power cord of the charger so that through it is not a sin and connect the welding transformer. Probably they are fighting with terrorism, so that every laptop owner can easily strangle any terrorist in his path, having stunned him with a fork hit on the head with this cord.
All this infuriates, but the situation does not change from year to year.

The middle pin that hangs in the air is ground. It is rarely found in the sockets, and if there is something far from always connected. And if it is connected, it is far from always correct. So it's not critical :)

And I recommend to solder the L-shaped output plug on the straight. Because if you jerk the cord, the L-shaped will catch and turn the connector / drag the laptop off the table, and the straight line just pops out.
