Modified firmware for Nokia S60
With joy finding the absence of this topic in the Habré, I will try to surprise the habra people with something new.
Recently, I was happy to find that the performance of my 5530 (namely, 5800 and N97 will be discussed) can be optimized using a small procedure - flashing a smart card. But not just a flashing, but deleting unnecessary files and settings.
What is interesting - the smart has become much quicker, more convenient, saves battery energy longer. Many programs and methods promise the same effect, but none of the ones I have tested gave such a result as a modified firmware. Under the cut - a review of one of the firmware, instructions, screenshots and, of course, links.
Immediately I want to note, as you already guessed - the firmware is made by “good people”, the author of the firmware does not bear responsibility for the killed smarts because of the relief of the hands.
I want to consider the best, in my opinion - modified firmware from xorRisont S60 version 3.0. It is such a union of all other firmware.

The bottom line: whoever doesn’t like the glitch when you rotate the screen, when you open the applications, even the standard applications freeze - do not be lazy, it’s safe if you follow all the rules.

- 4 new HomeScreen added (Full page - 6 icons; Navigation bar - like on 9.3; Orange Tornado HS and Omnia)
- Help completely removed (+ to phone memory)
- Accelerated: work effects, screen rotation, the work of the system as a whole

- Removed unused programs, such as MailForExchange and features, ala Contacts Ovi.

- MultiSampling anti-aliasing activated
- Additional downloads are activated by the browser
- In silent mode, default: Call vibration and display vibration are on (level 2)
- The following applications have been added: PocketSensor (pocket reaction - smart is blocked), BrightLigh (flashlight), BTSwitch (launch BT with one click), AutoInstaller (auto-install applications).

Instructions on firmware
- Download the firmware here for 5530 , here for 5800 and here for the N97 install it on your computer
- Modified files that need to be selected and downloaded here for 5530 , here for 5800 and here for N97 are moved to the folder where the firmware is installed (by default C: \ Program Files \ Nokia \ Phoenix \ Products \ RM-504), agreeing to replace files
- Here we download the program for the JAF firmware (there are instructions and reviews).
- We connect the phone in PC Suite mode
- After installation, run the JAF program from the desktop, ignoring the message BOX DRIVER NOT INSTALLED , it does not hurt us.
- Go to the BB5 tab, click the Use INI checkbox, after which our window will pop out, where we select our phone model. Ok, uncheck the CRT 308, set to: Manual Flash, Dead USB, Factory Set.
- Turn off the phone without disconnecting. We press in the Flash program, we agree with the error and by briefly pressing the Power button on the phone, we turn it on. Then the program will do everything for you. After a few minutes, you will receive a new phone.
We do not forget to make backups of flash drives, contacts and necessary programs. Thanks for attention.
