Simply Linux Release 2. The project is gaining momentum

The Simply Linux team announced the release of Simply Linux Release 2 (5.0.1). The distribution is still quite young, the first release was in October. But during this short time he managed to collect many users, largely due to his concept - ease of use, maximum Russification, nice interface, only necessary programs, focus on the novice user.

During this time, Simply Linux has become a project. He has a website and other fashionable attributes, such as LJ, VKontakte group and Twitter.

One of the main innovations of the distribution is the version for the flash drive, thanks to which Simply Linux can be easily installed on netbooks, and just to everyone who does not want to use the already outdated CD format.

Other changes:

• At the request of users, the audio player in the distribution was replaced, from the conceptual Sonata, with a powerful and easy-to-use Audacious
• The distribution includes a new version of the instant messaging client Pidgin with the correct translation of the menu into Russian
• Added functionality to the PrtSc and Win keys.
• The distribution includes a new set of wallpapers from Vlad Gerasimov (vladstudio.com)

Other changes are mainly related to the correction of errors of the first release and software updates, since the distribution is still on the Fifth Platform.



Also changed the composition of participants. Denis Koryavov, the founder of the distribution kit, remained the ideological inspirer, gave it to the initiative group of the Alt Linux company, on the basis of which technology he is actually assembled from the beginning.

New releases are planned to be released once a season (4 times a year), and in the near future, the developers promise to release Live-versions for flash drives and CDs.
