The social network Facebook has
announced the conclusion of partnership agreements with almost 50 mobile operators around the world, providing for the access of subscribers of these companies to a specialized version of Facebook, designed for mobile phones. Russia in the list submitted by the administration of the social network is not.
Henry Mossinas, head of the mobile division of Facebook: “We have removed all graphics, photos and videos from this version, but all this can be returned in just one click. Since only text is displayed on the phone screens, even on slow cellular connections, the network will work fairly quickly and provide material to users without delay. ”
The new project is located at
0.facebook.com and now access to it is completely free. Facebook says that now quite a few users access the social network via mobile phones, but most subscribers cannot call such work comfortable because of inconvenient interfaces and, most importantly, slow connection.

The new version is designed to remove these barriers. According to the network, now the mobile version is available through the network of 56 mobile operators in 47 countries. In total, these operators serve over 500 million people who could potentially become Facebook users. At present, the Facebook base exceeds 400 million people and about 100 million people at least occasionally access the site from a mobile phone.

The list of countries for which this service is available mainly included developing countries, such as Rwanda, Uganda and Nicaragua. At the same time, residents of some European countries, the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong will be able to work from
0.facebook.com . Residents of countries that are not included in the list below will be able to use the regular mobile version with payment for traffic, located at
m.facebook.com .

0.facebook.com users can change their online status from the phone screen, track comments, take notes and reply to private messages. Access to photos and videos may appear in the future, but with payment for traffic.
It should be noted that in Russia tariff plans and services for unlimited access to popular network resources are already offered. So, Skylink gives you the opportunity for a fixed fee to visit the Odnoklassniki social network without any restrictions, as well as the Mail.ru portal.
In the meantime, users from Russia have no choice but to admire the stub when trying to log in to the “lightest” version of Facebook:
