Competition IT startups. The prize fund of $ 12,000

Attention all habrovchanam! Launched a competition of high-tech IT projects in need of data center infrastructure. We allocated $ 12,000 to support the winners of the competition. With this money, the best participants will be able to use the resources of one of the most prestigious data centers in St. Petersburg for a total amount of 30,000 p. monthly for a year. Since we still do not know what the response will be and how many projects will take part in the competition, we assume that this sum can be divided between the winners in the amount of up to 5 projects.

Who can enter the competition?

Companies that are represented on habrahabr.ru and users with the amount of “karma” sufficient for posting are allowed to participate in the contest.
Up to three different projects can participate in the competition, both in the state of launch and developing, ready to migrate to the new infrastructure.

What are the criteria for choosing the best projects?

We are not interested in sample hosting projects. We focus on manufacturability and innovation. Preference is given to those who are going to host applications that require complex configuration of the information environment.
Do you want to sell your software on a rental basis or in a SaaS model? Do you know how to fine-tune the infrastructure and deploy a popular business application and want to get paid for it by replicating such solutions? Or are you just going to bring your own business application to the data center? Then this contest is for you! Just send us a free-form description of your project, and, if you need more information, we will contact you for clarifying questions.

What will winners get?

The winners of the competition will have the opportunity to start their project without the cost of organizing the IT infrastructure. We allocate to the winners the resources of the Tier III Category Data Center, on the innovative VMware platform, the use of which will allow you in the shortest possible time to organize your own virtual data processing center with full-featured VMware virtual servers combined into a separate local network. At the same time, the configuration and creation of each new machine will take you a few minutes, and it will be possible to carry out a change in the amount of resources consumed by the server (memory, hard disk, number and frequency of processors) remotely, without stopping the server and applications running on it!
The amount of resources that you can receive every month during the year will depend on the prize, which you will occupy. For example, what infrastructure can you deploy, having received 18 000 r. per month, let's say for 1st place?

What do we expect from the winners?

We expect the winners to actively master the resources of the virtual data center allocated for the project and to keep the project blog active in Habré with a description of the benefits of the technologies provided by us on the VMware platform. The fulfillment of our expectations for a prize is necessary.
