The results of the survey on the effectiveness of business processes "business" and "IT" - who is more optimistic?

In 2009 - 2010, at a series of trainings for IT companies, we conducted an interesting assessment on our own business process maturity model. We considered various models of maturity of companies by key parameters (labor productivity, process management, development of information exchange). Listeners were asked to fill out questionnaires, on the basis of which they summed up some statistics.

There were 4 sessions in different cities - Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Saratov. 92 participants. Score is placed in the range from 1 (bad) to 9 (excellent).

Findings:

1) In general, self-assessment and IT and business is quite low. Everyone read business books and they know “how it should be”, and their results are low. Although it may well be that they actually live better than most similar companies.

2) IT managers more positively assess the development of business processes. (Specially did not process the results, but imagine that the range is only from 4 to 8 and the difference will be noticeable). Or you can say the opposite - IT is less aware that business has some kind of organizational problems.

3) Regional companies even better evaluate their results (or worse represent how it could be in the ideal case).
