Ideas behind open production - individual needs
The phenomenon of open production , along with the phenomenon of open source software (open source), is based on certain social, economic, psychological and technical prerequisites. Previously, the issue of decomposition was considered. I understand that I quote common truths, but is it necessary to reinforce that point of view with something?
Why is this trend fundamentally important for open production? Obviously, reducing the number of units in a series of products eliminates all the advantages of mass production, respectively, the price of products in the framework of open production systems may even be lower than the price of products manufactured by traditional economic recipes. The following factors serve to reduce costs and increase attractiveness.
- the possibility of placing (selection) of production in close proximity to the buyer
- a high degree of competition among manufacturers, which makes it possible for the buyer to choose the appropriate quality of the product (of course, not lower than the pledged developers), while maintaining a reasonable price
- ability to remove intermediaries
- implementation of exactly those properties of the product that are required
- reducing the cost of the product by eliminating the cost of intellectual property, or choosing an intellectual property service provider to customize the product of their choice
-the possibility of direct participation in the supplement of the project at its discretion (which is especially important for "our brother", the rapid development of the popularity of DIY on Habré confirms this once again). Accordingly, the replacement of foreign intellectual property of their own.
Thus, with the observance of standards, the formation of a culture of interaction between carriers of intellectual assets and product manufacturers, a new economic niche is formed.
