Convenient e-book

Let's start with the fact that I really like PocketBook 301, or rather its software part. The guys are great, although I can only compare with the Lbook, but in comparison it’s just matter and antimatter. At a minimum, what is worth the opportunity as a screen saver when you turn on ask the last page open! (on the other hand, it is unclear why the screen turns off at all when it is turned off, because it doesn’t eat anything at all, but if you dig deeper, why should you even turn off the whole book). I also like the stability and speed of work, the interface (although there are also drawbacks), the implementation of bookmarks, the ability to read with a dictionary (today with ease), the presence of a search, the table of contents of the book, the redefinition of keys.

In my opinion, PocketBook is by far the most progressive company in the field. Yes, the price is somewhat too high, but you get convenience, reliability, innovation (gyroscope, wifi, touchscreen, dictionary lingvo) but ... some clumsiness of design. Even if I am subjective, it is obvious that he is at least inconsistent:

The leaflet from the bottom is in the center, it is closer to the right edge, the leaflet on the side is duplicated, then no. The book is thin and light (301), then thicker and weighty (302). All this complicates the upgrade for the consumer, because habit is also on the side of the scale. In this regard, in my opinion, the wrong direction with the Pocketbook 302 is the refusal of additional buttons to please the touchscreen (which, judging by the reviews on youtube, sometimes does not respond). And all the convenience of software that allows you to reconfigure the buttons for themselves simply sink into oblivion.

What books would we like to see in the future?

For me it:

This is how I roughly represent this model:

The orientation of course changes with the gyroscope, while the order of the buttons (from top to bottom) for the user does not change (for the book it is inverted, compare with the screenshot of the black “inverted” book at the beginning of the topic). I also focused on the progress bar (a sore spot after switching from the LBook in which it was convenient to finish reading the rest of the chapter for the night), I hope the programmers will repeat the same thing. Guys, make such a simple book (and freeze as part of ergonomics) and, I think, your consumer forever!

I hope the provocative headline and fake render will be interesting for poketbukovtsy (and not only), so I suggest to express everything you think on the topic “the book that I would buy tomorrow even.”
