According to the Wall Street Journal article, Verizon Wireless is working with Google to create a tablet.
"We are now exploring everything that is interesting in Google’s bins, to realize this in the tablet and make it really wonderful," said Lowell McAdam, executive director of Verizon Wireless.
A Google spokesman did not confirm anything about the rumors about the Google-Verizon Google Tablet, and said that the Android platform could be used to create different devices.

“Android is an open, free mobile platform. This means that anyone can take it and use it to create a mobile device, without any restrictions whatsoever, ”said a Google spokesman. “The Android platform was designed to scale both towards devices at the mobile phone level and towards devices like netbooks. Of course, we expect to see how this platform will encourage the development of innovations, but at the moment we are not ready to officially announce anything. ”
Verizon has not yet responded to a request for comment.
