You can now listen to translations in even more languages on Google Translate.

As Fergus Henderson writes in the official Google blog, listening to translations is one of the most popular features of the Google Translate service.

This feature was launched a few months ago for English and Haitian Creole languages, and a few weeks ago for languages such as French, Italian, German, Hindi, Spanish. Thanks to the open speech synthesizer eSpeak, text-to-speech has become available for a number of languages.

After eSpeak integration, text-to-speech became possible for such languages as Albanian, Afrikaans, Welsh, Hungarian, Vietnamese, Greek, Danish, Indonesian, Icelandic, Catalan, Chinese (Northern dialects), Latvian, Macedonian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese , Romanian, Russian , Serbian, Slovak, Swahili, Turkish, Finnish, Croatian, Czech, Swedish.

The sound quality of these languages is much lower than the previous ones, but Henderson promises that work will be done to improve.
