Democracy's opensource player received a $ 100,000 grant from Mozilla

Under its subsidy and subsidy program, Mozilla invested $ 100,000 in the Participatory Culture Foundation (PCF) - the developer of the opensource- “combine” Democracy Player (the program will soon be renamed Miro). The program is a mixture of video player, RSS-aggregator, FTP-and Torrent-client, as well as the directory of channels. In addition, Democracy Player can act as a server streaming video to the Web.

The Mozilla Foundation blog says that PFC funding is a good investment for Mozilla due to the fact that, firstly, Democracy Player uses the company's practices, and, secondly, the PCF policy fully complies with the basic Mozilla idea - creating an alternative and new ideas on the web.
