Russian car industry will make a flying car by 2020

A grandiose document was published on the website of the Vedomosti newspaper - the final version of the development strategy of the Russian car industry until 2020 ( TIF file, 101 pages ). The strategy has already been officially adopted and approved.

Of particular interest is clause 9.1, which describes the development of the national R & D base (pages 85-88), including the creation of unmanned vehicles (flyers) for the transport of passengers, vehicles for the industrial development of the Moon, etc.

AvtoVAZ will have something to do in the near future.

Long-term R & D:
')
1) the development of promising technologies of hydrogen energy and the creation on their basis of energy-efficient transport systems with ultra-low emissions of harmful substances;

2) the creation of intelligent, self-managed "unmanned" civilian vehicles;

3) the creation of high-tech and energy-efficient terrestrial mobile platforms using nuclear power sources;

4) development of theoretical foundations, technical design and the creation of prototypes of beta-voltaic high-power batteries that do not need to be recharged;

5) the creation of a complex for replenishing the onboard energy system with the help of natural energy sources (solar energy, low potential wind flows, spreading the potential of temperatures, etc.);

6) development of composite materials based on nanostructured polypropylenes and polyamides modified with nanodispersed mineral fillers to create supporting spatial structures with improved strength, weights and a high degree of recycling;

7) the creation of special vehicles of various types and purposes for the development of the shelf of the Arctic Ocean;

8) the creation and study of road transport systems and complexes for the industrial exploration of the Moon (a new innovative industry is being created);

9) vehicle development - a “flying car”, including a “dual” purpose, for the advanced development of the segment of the transport services market that is projected up to 2030 of a business, exclusive, elite and military nature.
