Turning off the social features of Google Reader

If you don’t like the social features of Google Reader and you only want to use it for reading subscriptions, you can now switch to the “asocial” interface of Google Reader:



For this you need:

1. Sign in to Google Reader

2. Enter this code in the address bar:

javascript:antisocial('true')

3. Google Reader will reboot and you will see a simplified interface, in which there is no section "Users whose constant reader you are." There will also be no records shared by you and your friends.

The settings will be saved for your account, despite the fact that this option is not in the interface. To return to the standard Google Reader look, enter this code in the address bar:

javascript:antisocial('false')
