It so happened that today I stumbled upon the already forgotten, but still relevant, topic of disabling the "gray tubes". Judging by the news, mass repressions will start in the foreseeable future. So, I will be glad to share my knowledge with those for whom this problem is still relevant.
I recall the theory. Any phone that crossed the border of Ukraine "illegally" is entered in the so-called "gray" list, and after three months, being in it, respectively, in the "black" and ceases to be registered in all cellular networks. This also applies to the phones of friends / relatives who came to visit from the CIS or more abroad, and really stolen devices, and of course almost all new iPhones and the like, which are more profitable to order / bring than to buy on the spot.
For law-abiding citizens, who by virtue of certain events have become happy owners of such pipes, there are several official ways of legalization, but all of them are very bureaucratic and inconvenient, and in some cases are not applicable at all. But fortunately there is a “lite” method of legalization, which was either left specially for its own people, or for resellers, or it appeared when people became very ill, but ordinary consumers, as a rule, do not know about it ..

I myself already “whitewashed” more than 20 handsets with this method, the last one, a week ago, was an iPhone 3GS, bought by a friend specially gray - in order to save 400 UAH.
