The next version of Android will support Adobe Flash.

Andy Rubin (Andy Rubin), Google's vice president of Android development, in an interview for the New York Times said that Android 2.2, ( aka Froyo ), will support Adobe Flash, although he did not specify whether this support will be pre-installed on the OS.

Google’s position on Flash is opposite to that of Apple, which categorically rejected the inclusion of Flash and Flash-based applications in the iPhone.

Regarding Flash support, Rubin said that the principle of openness sometimes means "not to be belligerent against things that consumers like." His comment relates to the widespread use of Flash for creating games, cartoons, streaming video streaming, building interactive graphics, creating online photo editors and other useful things on the modern Internet.

Adobe should introduce Flash Player 10.1 by the end of June, both for computers where flash is omnipresent and known to everyone, and for smartphones where it is not yet widely distributed. Promised support for phones based on Android, Windows Phone 7, BlackBerry OS, Symbian OS, and Palm's WebOS.
