Digest of computer hardware novelties (Release 7)

GTX480 from Zotac on liquid nitrogen
This weekend we received from the company Zotac a sample of the GeForce GTX480 video card and immediately put the video card on nitrogen.
Made CAP-mod, vmem-mod, ocp-mod, ovp-mod - a number of hardware modifications. They added their own capacitors, were able to regulate the voltage on the memory, removed the protection of current and voltage.
On the flip side, it all looked pretty scary)
The maximum frequencies of steel are 1053/1185 MHz (core / memory). This is the maximum that allowed to put the software - MSI Afterburner. We could not make the Voltmod core, due to the lack of datasheets that the developers do not want to share.
We managed to get second place in 3DMark03 among single video cards in the world. At the time of submitting the result, it was even a record, but klngln interrupted him after a couple of days. For those who do not know, this is an American overclocker, dough collaborating with developers from the company EVGA. Naturally, he had the opportunity to overclock the card above 1053 MHz, so he managed to make a new record.

Today six-core AMD Phenom II x6 processors are officially presented. They were based on the Thuban processor core.
