Free registration of your addresses in VKontakte is open.

Everyone remembers that X months ago, the administration of this social network provided an opportunity: for a fee, replace the address of your page from vkontakte.ru/idXXXXXX with something more memorable ( vkontakte.ru/superbaby ) + as Alaska noted, a subdomain of the same name is created.
Having entered this morning after the next page transition, I saw a message that I would not like to replace the address with the proposed one (the address was formed from the last name) and I agree / disagree, respectively, from the bottom. At the same time, if you go into the settings, you can already specify the address you would like to.

In principle, there is nothing new in this (just a free distribution), Facebook did it a long time ago, which caused a big stir at the moment of its appearance. So we manage to occupy good short names, until someone else takes them.

PS: literally at the weekend they asked how to find in this social network, but nothing better than to say full name + nickname did not come up, because I did not even try to remember the number, now this problem will not happen.

Last night, the first one hundred thousand users of the VKontakte network were able to register short names for their pages for free (vkontakte.ru/name). By the middle of the day, this function can be used by the first million registered, and by the evening - by all other users. The names specified in the future will be transformed into email addresses (name@vkontakte.ru).
