The first HS video from the N97, working on the Nokia 5800
After more than two months of hard work, the guys with DailyMobile managed to do what many users of the Nokia 5800 XM and its brethren dreamed of. Below is a video shot by one of the workers on porting the screen, a user of the forum dailymobile.se, steven25 .
The only question that raises the question is: why have a month decided how to port the desktop from S ^ 3, and in the end receive from N97? :) Let's hope that in the near future this port will be available for other users, but for now it remains only to cross your fingers so that the work does not drag on for an indefinite period or that there are any difficulties. source UPD: Topic suffered, thanks for the karma :) UPD2: The author said that this desktop will be built into the custom firmware, which is a bit frustrating - there is no desire to return to self-made firmware. I did not quite understand what the author wanted to say with the phrase “i can tell this is to flash, its 90% complete n97 fw v21”, but I assume that the project is 90% comprised of 21 Nokia N97 firmware.
In addition, the author listed known problems:
bluetooth does not work;
camera does not work;
no keyboard;
There is no media panel (this is the one that climbs when you press the XM touch button on the top-right of the screen;
The standard browser does not work.
After that, the author concludes that they release the project now, it is unlikely that many will be happy with what they receive.
