The C language creator will have to pass a knowledge test
The bureaucratic Google machine does not allow one of the creators of Unix and the C language to upload the code to the repository, because it did not pass the mandatory language proficiency test. From 1969 to 1973, Ken Thompson (on the left in the photo) together with Dennis Richie (on the right), while working at Bell, created his own version of Multics, called Unix. At the same time, he also developed the C language. Speed and simplicity C helped the widespread unix. They both became very popular. Google hired Thompson to create a new language, Go . But Google also requires all employees to pass a language test. Thompson says that he has not yet passed this test, and therefore he cannot upload the code.
This passage appeared in a book called Coders At Work, published last September. We do not know whether this information is relevant, or Thompson still allowed himself to become an object of offensive testing by some pimply schoolboy, stupidly picking his nose, crawling on Vkontakte, to know the language he invented.
The excerpt is: ')
Q: I know that Google has a rule that a new employee must pass a test before they submit the code. This means that you will also be rechecked for knowledge With [one of the creators of which you are].
Thompson: Yeah, I don't pass the test yet.
Q. Oh, did not pass? Are you not allowed to upload code?
Thompson: Yes, I am not allowed, I have not done this just yet. While there was no need.
