Who owned your domain?

Somehow I conceived an interesting project, for an interesting project an easily recognizable domain was needed. I came up with a domain in the .net zone and was surprised how it is in 2009, with this heyday of cybersquatting, still free. It became interesting, this domain belonged to someone before me. And in general, is there anyone’s statistics on whois domains for several years, when we didn’t close our personal data yet, using Private Person or Privacy protect.

It turned out lead. My domain was registered in 2005, by some foreigner, and at the end of 2008 I was released, apparently desperate to sell it.
