A new map service GeoCommons has opened. It allows you to create "intellectual geographic maps" for their needs. The service is a hybrid of Google Maps and Swivel.
The user can select the desired part of the map and put data on it, for example, information on the average heat consumption in different states for several years, and indicate that only those states whose performance exceeds the specified one should be displayed on the map. Then the map is converted into Google Earth format - KML or CSV. The service uses Google maps.
For recreational use, the process of creating maps is not very easy and affordable, although such applications are quite possible.
