The leaders of the 2D and 3D printing markets have agreed that Stratasys 3D printers will be distributed under the HP brand through our well-established sales network, and their customers will be able to take advantage of warranty technical support.
As it was said earlier, novelties are being sold only in 5 European countries: Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Italy and France. Prices are slightly higher than expected in January: € 12,500 and € 16,200, excluding VAT, respectively (in dollars with VAT - a little less than $ 17,500 and $ 22,500). The process of making a part in the HP DesignJet 3D printer involves the subsequent processing of the print with a special abrasive powder in a Centrifuge Removal System to remove burrs and material residue. The remains, in fact, like the parts themselves, can then be recycled.

The price today seems still very high, making DesignJet 3D available only to corporate clients. But the optimists are already waiting for the 3D print on the mass market to have the same fate as the laser one at one time (just remember how a few years ago the laser printer at home was really exotic). But realists have already thought about business ideas: from restoring parts for old mechanisms to installing DesignJets in copy centers.
