Google and Parallels: friendship of convenience?

Recently, Parallels announced the release of Plesk Panel version 9.5. The official press release lists several innovations that make life easier for site owners and allow hosts to earn more. The main feature of the latest version is the integration of Parallels Plesk Panel 9.5 with the Google Services for Websites toolkit. That is, new and improved features for hosters in the last panel are many, but the killing-implications for several market segments are associated with the partnership between Parallels and Google.

From the point of view of the site owner, the integration of “google” services into the hosting control panel is an absolute plus: this way services become easier to set up and use. This, in turn, will allow you to start earning on the traffic of your site. I would not be surprised that after hosters upgrade to Parallels Plesk Panel 9.5, the number of AdSence users will increase significantly due to those who, until recently, could not deal with this AdSence. Observers generally perceived this news as a political step. In particular, such an opinion was expressed : “Google has slightly calmed down its ardor regarding the fact that the clouds will kill the standard hosting very quickly, and just wanted to make money - distracted from its beautiful, but unrealistic ideology.”

Frankly, in an independent partnership with the Internet giant in terms of these services, hosters have not been noticed. Or, say, it was not a mass phenomenon. Collaboration with Parallels has opened a good distribution channel for Services for Websites and allowed at a time to solve at least two important tasks, even for a giant:

• Get access to hundreds and thousands of hosts and millions of site owners. Given the popularity of Plesk panels around the world, Google thus almost guaranteed the widespread distribution of the Google Services for Websites toolkit.
')
• Improve search quality. The more webmasters will use Google Services for Websites, the more accurate the results will be shown in the search results. And the more accurate the search, the more expensive it will be possible to sell words in AdWords.

However, is it worth blaming Google for striving to improve its key service and earn some money from it? What really matters is that Parallels and Google have opened access to a new business model for website owners. Previously, only clients of very large providers could earn on the traffic of their site. For example, the Google Services for Websites family was available under the tariff plans of the world's largest domain registrar GoDaddy. But now even the clients of the regional hosting provider can monetize their traffic.
