We published the results of the fifth annual rating and research of the Tagline expert group - “ Top-100 leading web studios of Russia 2010 ”. The formal indicator of rating construction, as in previous years, was the turnover of companies in the market for developing and supporting Internet projects.
The top ten rankings are as follows:

This year, the first position of the rating is changing for the first time - two leaders of the Russian web development market share 1-2 places.
The methodology (once again has changed quite a lot since last year) took into account the voting of studio representatives and external experts, as well as correction factors based on data submitted by the studios themselves. Among other things, an estimate of the market volume for 2009 was published.
We also reveal information about who voted for the studios of the entire Top 100 and how, and also published the values of the general correction factor, significantly increasing the transparency of the project.
Published quite interesting statistics on the use of boxed CMS by studios:

2. UMI.CMS - 30.9% (+ 8.4%)
3. NetCat - 28% (+ 9.9%)
4. Joomla! - 22.6% (+ 17.2%)

1. .masterhost.ru with 40.8% (+ 6.7%)
2. RU-Center - 31% (+ 20.7%)
3. Hosting Center RBC - 17.1% (+ 5.9%)
4. SpaceWeb - 15.9% (+ 8.8%)
5. AGAVA - 13.9% (+ 7.2%)
6. TimeWeb - 9.2% (+ 6%)
7. Majordomo - 8.9% (+ 5.4%)
8. 1Gb.ru - 7.4% (+ 3.9%)

This year, our research and rating have matured significantly - we have increased the number of respondents to 1,200, and the number of customers participating in the vote to 100; now absolutely all web studio data is moderated, we manually request the missing data from the web studio representatives and remind about the deadlines; moderation of the rating and research data took more than 2 person-months.
Very soon we will release a study of business indicators of web studios, technology solutions (this year for the first time we “counted” the distribution by programming languages, databases, frameworks and other interesting pieces. And at the end of May we will issue regional ratings and studies on 20 regions .
