Microsoft, in collaboration with Facebook, launched Docs.com

Today, at the Facebook f8 developer conference , Mark Zuckerberg introduced the MS Office document editing service , which was created with Microsoft and launched a few hours ago. Users are given the opportunity to create (or upload existing ones) and share MS Office documents with friends on Facebook, as well as save them to their own computer. The site was built using Microsoft Office 2010.

This project can be viewed as a response to the joint editing capabilities presented in Google Wave , as well as to the online editing service of Google Docs documents .

At the moment, the project is in the beta state and is available to a limited list of users (by invitation). But you can add to the list of pending invitations.
