Android 2.2 on the way. What's new?

Most smartphones have not even updated their firmware to 2.1, but this does not prevent Google from being engaged in the development and debugging of a new version of its Android 2.2 platform, codenamed Froyo. Rumor has it that Nexus One will receive a new version very soon. The release has not yet been released, so there is no exact information about the updates, but here are some assumptions about the upcoming features of Android 2.2:

• JIT compiler
• Additional free RAM memory
• OpenGL ES 2.0
• Flash 10.1 support
• Fixed problem with “crazy screen” (multitouch)
• Color trackball activation
• FM radio

Information about the JIT compiler is already a fact, it only remains for us to wait for the details from Google I / O, which have already provided the compiler to application developers to test their programs.

Additional free RAM will appear thanks to the new kernels that Linux uses in the new version of Froyo. This was previously implemented in CyanogenMod, which gives grounds to reliably assume the appearance of additional memory.
