MonoMac - Mono Project for MacOSX

image Miguel de Icaza in his blog announced a new project from the family Mono - MonoMac. MonoMac is a new framework that allows you to build Cocoa applications for OSX using Mono. As Miguel writes, this framework embodies the entire experience of Novell in the development of Mono on Linux and iPhone.

At the current early stage of the project, the following bindings are implemented:

- CoreFoundation;
- CoreText;
- CoreGraphics;
- Foundation;
- AppKit (left to do about 30%).
')
MonoMac is not bound to the C # language. As Miguel says: “MonoMac bindings on OSX can be used with IronPython, F #, and IronRuby, not just C #.” And this is great.

In Miguel's post you can find detailed information about the goals and ideology of the project. MonoMac is a opensource project that is licensed under the free license MIT X11 compatible with the GPL. A project mailing has been created. Sources are available from the SVN project for monomac and maccore .
