KIN: 2 new phones from Microsoft

Microsoft has just announced the release of two new KIN phones. The most interesting is that the phones are positioned as FeaturePhones for children. The main purpose of the phone is the exchange of short messages and other social content. In a word, everything is for SOCIALITY and “friends-friends-friends”.

Practically everything that managed to be learned today, + a heap of photos and video under a cat.

• The phones will go on sale in May on Verizon and in the fall on Vodafone;

The Pimp at the bottom of the screen works as a container of content that you want to share. You drag a page on the Internet there, a photo or video and you can immediately send it to Facebook, by e-mail, mms, etc.

Also on the keyboard there is a special button with a smiley (Why hasn't anyone thought of it before ?!)

Loop

Loop - the home screen of the phone, which contains statuses from social networks, such as Facebook, twitter, etc. Another thing is interesting, it shows more information about the people that you are most interested in.

Everything that happens on the phones is automatically transferred to the cloud. For this, Microsoft developed a special KIN studio.

KIN camera

The camera is “sharpened” by immediately sending photos and video content to social networks.

Bing

The UI has built-in Bing search, which searches both globally and locally.

Zune

The phones completely inherited all the features of the Zune. Microsoft has even stated that you no longer need Zune if you fit in 4 or 8 gigabytes.

What is missing

• IM Twitter and all that, of course convenient. + SMS has not been canceled. But neither ICQ nor Jabber nor messenger on the phones there.
• There is no API or SDK for third-party developers.
• GPS is missing - what about all this talk about social geo? Apparently Microsoft will later declare, like Apple, that it will look for a position along cellular towers.
• No calendar.
• And there is no sensible way to share a photo on Twitter.
