Trojan extorts money for torrents

As you know, in Western countries, BitTorrent users have already begun to actively "unwind" with money. After calculating the IP address, the user receives a claim on the amount, which depends on the number of pirated files downloaded. And now the first Trojan was discovered, which acts in the same way.

It is not yet known how the Trojan penetrates the system, but after launching it scans the computer for .torrent files and, based on the scan results, it displays a “copyright violation warning” on the screen.

The user is directed to the ICCP Foundation's organization site, where he is warned of a possible fine of up to $ 250,000 and up to five years in prison and offered to pay for services that will help to avoid prosecution. The bill is a little less than $ 400.

If the user refuses to pay, they threaten to transfer all of his data to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.

The organization’s website states that it collaborates with the RIAA, MPAA and The Copyright Alliance. WHOIS for their domain indicates an email that has been repeatedly seen in suspicious activity.
