FastStone Photo Resizer as a photo processing tool
Having created a site for one of the customers, I ran into a small problem - uploading photos to the photo gallery on the site. The site was located on a shared-hosting, and this means that the memory on the server is not enough and is simply not enough to handle large photos. Now, after all, most have good digital cameras with high resolution and correspondingly with a large file size. A photo needs to be uploaded to the server and reduced, which requires serious resources. And I would also like to upload photos not one by one, but by a pack.
The program FastStone Photo Resizer allows you not only to resize photos with a pack, but also to put text on them, watermarks, adjust the frames with a shadow, etc. But first things first ...
Since the customer had to upload the photos onto the site himself and did not have Photoshop, it was decided to find a convenient program for reducing the size of the image before uploading to the site. She was the program FastStone Photo Resizer . The program is free for personal and educational use (thanks to Ruslan_Y ). While the distribution of the program takes only 1.5 MB, it has, as it turned out, quite powerful functionality.
Installation and launch of the program took less than a minute.

The program interface is intuitive. As you can see in the screenshot, you need to select the files to be processed, move them to the right window, select the output file format and the folder in which the received files fit.
But this is an ordinary conversion, in order to take advantage of the functionality to the fullest - tick Use Advanced Options and click the Advanced Options button.
A new window opens with different tabs. I will not describe everything in detail - only the most interesting ones in my opinion.
So, the Resize tab sets the new photo size in pixels, as a percentage, on one side (the image reduces proportionally), the filter, etc.
In the Rotate tab, you can set the rotation of the image, in Crop - crop the image to a certain size, and in Color Depth - change the color depth.
On the Adjastments tab, you can adjust the image parameters (brightness, contrast, etc.)
In the Text tab, any text is applied to the photo, while you can select the text layout, font, set the necessary transparency.
The same can be done with a transparent png-image in the Watermark tab - set it as a watermark in any place and with a given transparency.
Well, in Border, you can set the frame in a photo and even adjust the drop shadow.
Let me remind you that all the operations described can be performed on several files at once.
