Silverlight in TV, BluRay and other devices will be presented at the NAB 2010 conference

On April 10, the 2010 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show conference will begin in Las Vegas. As reported in the official Microsoft document, the latest achievements of the Silverlight platform in terms of distribution and use in new markets will be presented there. In addition, a number of technological innovations will be presented.

During the conference will be presented:

- Together with SOC partners (System On Chip), Microsoft will introduce systems with embedded Silverlight using STB devices, TVs and Blu-Ray drives. The first devices are expected in late 2010;

- A new version of IIS Media Services 4 will be introduced, which will allow to automatically distribute one HD video content for different platforms: from iPhone / iPod / iPad to the web in the form of Silverlight and Smooth Streaming.

- IIS Media Services 4 will support Smooth Multicast technology for delivering real-time video content within a corporate network with a significant reduction in network equipment requirements;

- in collaboration with Inlet Technologies, Level 3 Communications, THX Ltd. and TVN will play 3D HD video content using Silverlight and IIS Smooth Streaming.
