This may cause a smile after the recent news that
Apple has sold 100 million of its iPods , but
Microsoft seems to be pleased with the number of Zune sold since it fulfilled the sales commitment made before the launch of Zune.
This detail has been made known by Robbie Bach, president of the Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division. He told the San Francisco Chronicle that the company sold “just over a million Zune players,” which means a 10% share of the hard disk player market. Although Batch considers these sales a “good start,” he admits that Zune wasn’t as widely distributed as the corporation wanted.
“When the amount of product you sell equals one million, revenues, frankly, are not as large as we want them to be in the future,” said Robbie.

Unfortunately, Batch did not talk about future plans for Zune - instead, he started talking about Zune pink and watermelon flowers :)
