As a result of the abnormal heat of the server, Rambler Telecom data center could not withstand the increased temperature
Hot weather, which is not the first day in Moscow, caused overheating of the servers Masterhost and Rambler, located in the data center Rambler Telecom. Thus, the mail and video hosting of Rambler, as well as some sites running on the Masterhost servers, were interrupted for several hours.
As a result of the abnormal heat that has recently been established in Moscow, the Rambler Telecom data center servers did not withstand the increased temperature conditions and failed. As a result, the postal service Rambler Mail and the video hosting Rambler Vision since mid-day on May 28 turned out to be unavailable to users. The problem affected other companies as well. For some time, the Masterhost servers located in the Rambler data center also did not function. Currently, the functionality of some servers has already been partially restored.
As told in the company "Rambler", the cause of the incident was a problem at the server site, where there was overheating of the equipment. “In the very near future, everything should get better, since all our specialists are already working in the data center,” promised the company. - At this moment, two problems are practically solved in the data center: all the servers that have shut down due to the heat are raised, and the assembly of additional air conditioners is being completed. Now, the temperature in the data center has been restored to the normal temperature and services should start working in the next few hours. ” ')
The company “Masterhost” also confirmed this information: “Due to problems in the Rambler Telecom data center, on the site of which some of our servers are hosted, many resources were unavailable to users for a certain period of time. Currently, the normal operation of some of them has already been restored. ”
Currently, Rambler Telecom has a server room that has two independent power supply feeders with automatic switching, a common uninterruptible power supply system, a ventilation system, air conditioning and gas fire suppression, the official website says.
