Published Novell documents are pulling the scandal

On Friday, Novell published an agreement with Microsoft . But in order to make us more suspicious, the data released was incomplete. A huge amount of information has been edited.

CNET's Mary Jo Foley, Mary Jo Foley, notes that, among other things, documents indicate that Microsoft will stop distributing SUSE Linux once it is approved by the GPL v3, which hinders the Novell-Microsoft agreement.

Groklaw reports that the SCOSource failure was suspected to have probably been the dress rehearsal for the upcoming legal war. The notion of “right to use”, which we already have to some extent, was put forward by SCO.

One way or another, I don’t think that such actions by Novell will appeal to the opensource-community.

The question is, what can we do if Microsoft has a lot more money than SCO, and SCO made mistakes? This is not a PR battle, this is a legal battle. And Microsoft has more trump cards here.
