iPad vs HP Slate are both good
The popular site Engadget compared the characteristics of two similar devices, Apple's great new iPad, and the incomprehensible new HP Slate expected in June. Comparison in my opinion shows that both devices are excellent.

This is the new HP Slate promotional video:
As you can see, it’s not Windows 7 bare, but a multimedia shell from HP. Skype, expansion cards, connection to TV and other buns in stock.
In connection with this comparison, I have the following thoughts:
1. Pluses iPad - a great device in the series of Apple-devices, iTunes and AppStore, a sea of specialized software, a bookstore, where it will be. Long work time is a huge plus.
2. Pros HP Slate - a smaller size, which means - greater mobility, two cameras and Skype. Expansion via SD card and USB. Full Windows 7, where you can stick any familiar software. HDMI output, and therefore you can use the HP Slate as a mini multimedia center at home. Faster processor and claimed hd-video 1080p support (needed for TV output).
In general, the choice is very difficult to make. In my opinion, it is necessary to take both devices. In my opinion, they complement each other more than compete. In this regard, I plan to buy the device that first gets to the Russian shelves. And then, probably, the second :-).
