Habraetiket

This summary of the rules was made after discussing the topic "What is bad?" on Habré. Basically, it is aimed at drawing up a set of rules reflecting the reasons and what it cannot be, for changing karma and changing the status of a message.

These rules are not for fulfillment in the form of an order, they are rules of etiquette, and to some they may seem obvious, but still it’s worth re-reading and implementing them, it’s not so difficult.
The set of rules is not the last resort, moreover, this is not even the alpha version, and I hope that our synergy and collective intelligence will help us to add to, change this list.

Any person has the right to use the rating system for messages and people, but he has no right to restrict the personal freedoms of other people.
  1. Do not abuse your capabilities. You must understand that the minus is very different from the plus. The minus oppresses the person, but does not develop it. Put the pros when you like something, but think before you put a minus, if something did not like
  2. The more Habrasil and Habrakarm, the greater the responsibility. The greater the responsibility, the less often you must rate, because any of your actions will have consequences
  3. Changing the status of a message and a Habrakhabr participant will always be anonymous, so that repressions to changes will not appear
  4. Respect the opinions of others. It does not have to match your
  5. The argued post, even if it is opposite to your opinion, cannot receive a minus. The person is not obliged to lax up to your tastes.
  6. Think about the consequences before flooding, inappropriate advertising, spamming, etc.
  7. Changes in karma are much more responsible than setting a + - message. 2-3 messages can not be a reason for understating karma in any case.
  8. Refuse from posting messages aimed only at increasing Habrasila. Strive just to write more interesting and better.
  9. Help others where you can
  10. The first comment is not the only comment in the topic. Before you put him a plus, read a couple more.
  11. If similar topics are repeatedly raised under various pretexts, this does not mean that it is necessary to put a minus. It only means that the problem has not been solved yet.
  12. Each author has his own personality, because if you have already seen a similar article somewhere, this does not mean that there is nothing new or interesting in the message. Read it, think about it. Understand what the author's opinion.
  13. A sacred cow is not a reason for a minus. One country has one sacred cow, the other has another. One group or blog has one, the other has another. If a person argues, then it is true, you can only bring their counter arguments.
  14. The minus is not an argument, and, moreover, not a counter-argument.
  15. Do not do what is not accepted in a civilized society, contrary to the laws, morality and ethics.
  16. Netiquette, he and Habré netiquette.
  17. Do not do to others what you do not want to receive from them yourself. Put yourself in the shoes of the person you are chatting with. Defend your point of view, but do not insult others.
  18. Remember that your message must carry at least some information value. On Habrahabr does not matter does not matter your story. If the article or comment is worth it, they will get a plus, and you, perhaps, will also increase your karma. Useless information will leave only an unpleasant impression.
