Translucent and sound-reflecting interiors of NEXT radio and POPA in Novinsky passage
The idea of NEXT and POPA studios was based on the idea of turning radio listeners into radio viewers as well. The air studios are separated from the passage gallery and from each other by sound insulating glass units of 2.8 × 4.0 m each, thanks to which the everyday life of the recording offices turns into a showcase behind the glass.Visible job DJ, host of the show and guests of thematic programs. The stage effect is complemented by a floor elevation of 25 centimeters, which hides the commutation cable. The project fad is a way to improve acoustic performance. With the help of a broken ribbon of Corian multiplied sound-reflecting surfaces, which is usually achieved by changing the angles of inclination of the walls and ceilings. The reception saved space by opening up the possibilities of modern design interpretation of the radio recording process. The walls of the rooms are finished with black perforated panels, drilled by hand for the purpose of minor hole shifts that provide resonance. The ribbon is close to the sculptural object. However, localized lighting abstracts its perception in a darkened interior. Never repeating angles of kinks are associated with digital images transforming into infinity of the monitor. The functional justification for arbitrary geometry is the zoning of workplaces with the appropriate technical equipment - a mixing console, etc. - at the same time for the DJ, the show host and guests, who are provided with "cut" planes. Passing through a transparent wall and repeatedly reflected in glass, the tape is closed into a ring that unites the two studios and becomes a visible embodiment of the connectivity of the communication field. Behind the studios are located the premises of the editors of the air, recording studio, production room and office. The general idea of the visual accessibility of the working "kitchen" is supported by communications open to the ceiling. Magazine: Architectural Gazette
