Back or Forward?

In the navigation of blogs, texts, live, there are links "Back" and "Forward." At the same time, “Back” leads to the left, to newer messages / comments, and “Forward” - to the right, to older ones.
This is somewhat confusing to me, since I am used to the fact that the old is behind. Am I the only one? ;)
