Hello, Habr. On this pleasant spring day, I decided to tell about my project.
I think many gamers dreamed of some kind of game Last.fm'a - a service where you can keep track of the games that have been played, mark the best of them, and also look at what your friends or neighbors play. Of course, it seems unlikely to write some kind of AudioScrobbler for games: many favorite old games have already been passed three times and put on the shelf, and humanity has not yet invented any reasonable system for recording games other than Steam.
Gamlist allows
you to make a list of your favorite /
unloved passed / still-
un -passed games. With the help of the search you can find the game in the database and add to your list. Everything works quite simply, but it takes a little time to remember all the previous military achievements. By completing the list and saving the page, you can get for it a short address like
gamlist.org/agressor (instead of the aggressor, your nickname), as well as customize its appearance. On the basis of the list, you can generate a that will be automatically updated.
The main feature of the service is its simplicity. Filling begins immediately upon entering the site, in a test account. Registration occurs only when the user wants to save his profile. For the sake of interest, even the captcha has not yet included, let's see what happens.

Of course, for the time being, the utility of the service will seem doubtful to many, but with a sufficient user base, you can make interesting ratings: who plays what, which games are the most expected, and also, for example, build games popularity charts.
But this is still in distant plans. In the nearest ones - add social functions: the ability to follow updates from another user, add games from Twitter, find neighbors and others.
I would be very glad if
you find
Gamlist useful.
PS: The database of the hamslist includes a huge variety of computer and video games, starting from the early 90s. But for sure there will be inconsistencies, spaces and other clumsiness. With more than 15,000 games in the database, this is normal; if possible, we will fix everything.
PS / 2: Anyone interested: the project is made on Symfony 1.4 + Propel 1.4 + Prototype JS. Search performed by Sphinx.
