Solaris is no longer free

Oracle gradually begins to cover the "free shops", inherited from the load with Sun Microsystems. The first to come under the distribution of the operating system Solaris, more precisely, after the re-branding is officially Oracle Solaris.

The day before yesterday a new license agreement was published , under which Oracle Solaris ceases to be a free OS. After registration, only a 90-day trial version is available, and then you need to buy a paid license.

It was also announced that some features of Oracle Solaris will no longer be represented in OpenSolaris, which may mean the gradual extinction of the project according to a model that experts predicted (although Monty spoke about MySQL, but Oracle uses the same methods).

From this day on, OpenSolaris has become a direct competitor to the Oracle business, so the future of this open OS is under great threat.
