NexentaStor 3.0.0 CE released with a limit of 12 TB

The developers of the project NexentaStor have announced the release of a new version of the free and community-based edition of their product - NexentaStor 3.0.0 Community Edition (CE).

At the core of NexentaStor 3.0.0 CE is the OpenSolaris distribution (OS134 release) optimized for use in virtualized environments and with improvements for the ZFS file system, as well as support for disk quotas for groups and users. The new release has a number of new features announced for the commercial edition of NexentaStor 3.0 (Enterprise Edition). The limitation for the community version of Nexenta is in the amount of data, the maximum of which is 12 terabytes.

Among the innovations: in-line deduplication (in-line deduplication) of the main data storage and backup copies, improved support for hardware, the ability to automatically expand pools.

Release NexentaStor 3.0 Enterprise Edition is scheduled for March 31.

It is also worth noting that today was appointed a new vice-president for technical operations at Nexenta Systems, the company behind NexentaStor. They became Rick Hayes (Rick Hayes).
