AdMob: Android is the fastest growing mobile platform

According to a recent study on mobile traffic by AdMob in February 2010, Android devices continue to gain popularity.

AdMob explores global network traffic requests for mobile advertising on more than 15,000 sites and applications. According to the "February 2010 Mobile Metrics Report", Android retains the second place among mobile platforms for smartphones in terms of "activity in advertising consumption". Back in December, Symbian was ahead.

Platform popularity in February 2010 according to AdMob:

1. iPhone OS - 50% (share has not changed since last month);
2. Android - 24% (in January it was 21%);
3. Symbian - 18% (it was 19%);
4. RIM OS (Blackberry) - 4% (it was 5%).

1. Apple iPhone - 49.5% (-0.9%);
2. Motorola Droid - 7.8% (+ 0.6%);
3. HTC Dream - 3.2% (-0.3%);
4. HTC Hero - 3.0% (+ 0.4%);
5. HTC Magic - 2.6% (+ 0.5%);
6. Motorola CLIQ - 2.6% (+ 0.3%);
7. Nokia N70 - 2.0% (-0.3%);
8. Blackberry 8300 - 1.5% (-0.2%).
9. Palm Pre - 1.4% (-0.6%).
